Mrs. Zelma Welch Dodgen 99, of LaFayette, Alabama died Thursday June 10, 2021 at her residence.

Mrs. Dodgen was born in Chambers County, Alabama February 26, 1922 to the late Obe Welch and the late Lora Vickers Welch, she was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Camp Hill, Alabama, and retired from the Playtex Plant in LaFayette.

Graveside services will be held Sunday June 13, 2021 at 2PM (CT) 3PM (ET) at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama with the Rev. Steve Powell officiating.

She is survived by her Son Jeffrey "Bodine" (Danita) Dodgen of LaFayette, Al., Sister Thyron Davis of Tuscaloosa, Al., Grandchildren Nick (Kira) Dodgen of LaFayette, Al., Trent Dodgen of LaFayette, Al., Rob Dodgen of Valley, Al., Miranda Dodgen of Gulf Shores, Al., Great Grandchildren Breanna Hand of Auburn,Al., Colton Hand of LaFayette, Al., Special Caretaker and family member Minnie Pearl Laney of Abanda, Al.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Paul Dodgen, Grandson Cord Dodgen, and Son Randy Dodgen.

Donations may be made to Cord Dodgen Scholarship Fund at Farmers And Merchants Bank.

Pallbearers will be Chris Ison, Bryan Lamb, Rob Abney, Trent Dodgen, Colton Hand, and Rob Dodgen.
