Mr. Roy Dunn 93, of Five Points, Alabama went to join his deceased wife Allene Brown Dunn to be with their Lord and Savior on Tuesday May 12, 2015 at Arbor Springs Rehab in Opelika, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 14, 2015 at the Five Points Baptist Church with Rev.Paul Howard and his best friend Ray Hemricks officiating, burial will follow in the Five Points Belcher cemetery. The family will receive friends a the church on Thursday from 9:30AM until 11AM prior to the service. Mr. Dunn was born November 4, 1921 to the late Royal Lester Dunn and the late Macie Sims Dunn in the Rock Springs community of LaFayette. He was a member of the Five Points Baptist Church since 1943 and served as a deacon, sunday school superintendent, sunday school teacher, and RA leader. Mr Dunn joined the US Navy at the age of 19 during World War II. He served on the US Neches (Tanker) as a machinist with the responsibilities of keeping the ship running. He attended school in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Macon, Georgia in preparation for building custom made furniture. He taught cabinet making and furniture projects at Opelika Tech from 1965 until 1991. Upon retirement he returned to his home shop in Five Points and continued to design and build furniture until his illness at the age of 92.

He is survived by 2 sisters in law-Catherine Brown of Roanoke, Al., Lender Rearden of Valley, Al., 2 brothers in law-H.L. Brown of Warner Robbins, Ga., Leonard (Frances) Brown of Five Points, Al., and a host of special nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his 2 sisters Rosalind Williams and Helen Moore.
