Mr. Robert C. (Bobby) Sims, Jr. 81 of LaFayette, Alabama died Saturday July 31, 2021 at the East Alabama Medical Center.

Bobby was born in LaFayette July 2, 1940 to the late Robert C. Sims, Sr. and Mary Frances Sims, he graduated from LaFayette High School and attended Furman University on a football scholarship where he played defensive tackle. After college he spent 60 years in the construction industry and traveled the country as a superintendent building large commercial facilities. he retired in 2016 and returned home full-time to his much loved farm in LaFayette, where he raised Red Angus cattle.

A public visitation and service will be held at Rock Springs Baptist Church on Saturday August 14, 2021 at 4PM with a private family burial to follow.

Bobby is survived by his Wife of 21 years Maria, Mother Mary Frances Sims, Brothers Tom (Diane), Kenneth (Joy), and Daughters Carol and Robin (Dean) and Granddaughter Christi, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Father, and Sister Charlotte.
