Mr. Robert Barnett, 94, of Wadley, Alabama died Thursday November 6, 2014 at the East Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Sunday November 9, 2014 at 2 PM at the LaFayette Heights Baptist Church with burial in the LaFayette City Cemetery the Rev. Paul Howard officiating. Mr. Barnett was born in Goodwater, Alabama October 25, 1920 to Carl Barnett, Sr., & Maydolph Saxon Barnett.  He was a WW2 Army veteran was awarded the WW2 Victory Medal, The European Africa Middle Eastern Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars was with the 743rd Tank Battalion as a gunner.

Survivors are his 9 children Annie Mae (JC) Robinson of Leeds, Al., Julia (Lynwood) Hurst of Valley, Al., Christine (Sammy) Simpson of Opelika, Al., Dianne Glidewell of Ragland, Al., Shonda (Richard) Burke of Wadley, Al., Shawn (Wayne) Harvey of Savannah, Ga., Dennis (Regina) Teel of Cusseta, Al., Donnie (Karla) Teel of Dadeville, Al, Sammy (Tracy) Teel of Alexander City, Al.,  Sister Nora (Merrell) Crabb of Pratville, Al., Brother Billy Joe Barnett of Sylacauga, Al., 22 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, and a host of great great grandchildren. Was preceded in death by his wife Wilma Barnett, 1 daughter and 3 grandsons.
