Mr. Lewis Yancey 85, of LaFayette, Alabama died Thursday July 16, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at the Center Baptist Church at 1:30PM on Sunday July 19, 2015 with burial in the LaFayette City Cemetery with the Rev. Randall Hamer and the Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 1PM until 1:30PM prior to the service. Mr. Yancey was born in Ridge Grove August 14, 1929 to the late Clarence Edwin Yancey and the late Nellie Clara Yancey. He was a veteran of the US Army, a member of the Center Baptist Church in Ridge Grove, and retired from the Tallapoosa River Electric Co-Operative after 43 years of service.

Survivors are his daughter-Jenny Leigh (Bill) Spratlin of Rockford, Al., daughter in law-Phoebe Yaney of Lanett, Al., grandchildren-Jill (Zane) Hyde, Kyle Yancey & Bailey Yancey.  He was preceded in death by his sons-Steven Lamar Yancey & Ed Yancey, grandson-Corey WallaceYancey, brother-Dewey Yancey, sister-Inez Johnson and his wife-Betty Sue Yancey.  Jeff Jones Funeral Home, LaFayette, Al.
