Mr. Jimmy Rodgers 101 of LaFayette, Alabama died Thursday August 27, 2015 at the Bethany House Hospice. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of LaFayette on Saturday August 29, 2015 at 2PM with burial in the LaFayette City Cemetery, with the Rev. Bill Hand, Rev. Stephen Grubbs and the Rev. Bennie Yates officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 12:30PM until 2PM prior to the service. Mr. Rodgers was born in Red Level, Alabama July 14, 1914, he owned and operated a restaurant for 67 years, retiring at age of 92, he was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church of LaFayette.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years Thelma Adams Rodgers of LaFayette, Al., Son Darryl (Barbara) Rodgers of LaFayette, Al., Grandchildren Jason (Tonya) Collins of Atlanta, Ga. Amanda (Rev. Stephen) Grubbs of Liberty, TN. Great Grandchildren Nathan, Natalie and Noah Grubbs.

He was preceded in death by his daughter and son in law Janice Edwina Collins and Dr. Travis Collins.
