Mrs. Evelyn McQuiston 93 of Valley, Alabama died Thursday December 20, 2018 at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday December 22, 2018 at 3PM (CT) at Jeff Jones Funeral Home with burial to follow at Resthaven memorial Gardens in Lanett, with the Rev. David Waldrop and Dr. Al Cougill officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 2PM until 3PM prior to the service.

Mrs. McQuiston was born in Randolph County, Alabama August 19, 1925 to the late Russell Steven Davis and the late Pearlie Irene Phillips Davis, she was a member of the Ossanippa Baptist Church, and retired from the Department Of Human Resources as a care worker, and was a good seamstress and loved to garden.

She is survived by her Daughter Cynthia (Dr. Al) Cougill of Lanett, Al., Brother Wilbur (Bertha) Davis of Valley, Al., 2 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Clinton Didge Shivers and William Ray McQuiston, 2 children Steven Wayne Shivers and John Hoyt Shivers and a sister Willie Mae Backstrom.
