Mrs. Ellen White 82 of LaFayette, Alabama died Wednesday February 8, 2017 at the LaFayette Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 2PM Friday February 10, 2017 at the LaFayette Heights Baptist Church with burial to follow at the LaFayette City Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Howard officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5PM until 7PM at the Family Life Center of LaFayette Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. White was born in Tallapoosa County, Alabama December 30, 1934 to the late William (Bill) Owen and the late Mary Henderson Owen. She was a member of the LaFayette Heights Baptist Church, and was retired from the State of Alabama with the Food Stamp Program, prior to that she was employed with the old Wheeler Hospital and later with Wheeler Clinic in LaFayette for 35 years.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years Harold White of LaFayette, Al., 5 children Tim White of LaFayette, Al., David (Diane) White of LaFayette, Al. Cammie (Paul) Hester of LaFayette, Al., Steve (Kristin) White of Sharpsburg, Ga. Stephanie (Tim) Gillespie of Knoxville, Tn.  11 grandchildren   6 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson Timothy Gabriel Gillespie.
