Dylan Lowe McClendon of Atlanta, GA passed away on September 10, 2019.
He was born on September 17, 1990 in Columbus, GA and grew up in La Fayette, AL. He was a member of First Baptist Church of La Fayette. He attended Springwood High School in Lanett, AL. During high school he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. His passion was baseball as a center fielder. He continued his love for the game as a volunteer coach for a summer baseball league at Saint Pius Catholic High School. Dylan loved the outdoors and he especially loved to fish and hunt. He was an avid sports fan and a diehard Auburn football fan. After completing his studies at Georgia Perimeter College he attended the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University. After moving to Atlanta, he attended Passion City Church and was involved with its ministries.
Dylan was a friend to many, he was a stranger to no one, and loved by everyone.
His contagious smile, energy, and humor were felt by all who knew him.
Dylan is survived by his mother Shelley Kyle of Atlanta, GA; his father James McClendon of Atlanta, GA; and maternal grandparents Gail and Toppy Van of Greensboro, GA. Also survived by his maternal aunt Dedra Grizzard O'Connor of Atlanta, GA and his paternal aunt and uncle, Lisa and Hugh McClendon of Auburn, AL.
To share memories and celebrate Dylan's life, on Tuesday September 17 the family will have a private memorial service and then greet friends from 2-4 pm central time at the Welcome Center of the First Baptist Church in LaFayette, AL, 201 LaFayette St South.
At a future date to be announced, the family will also have a celebration gathering in Atlanta.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to belovedatlanta.org.
