Rev. Carlis Brown 80 of Five Points, Alabama died Wednesday September 14, 2016 at the Bethany House Hospice. Funeral services will be held Friday September 16th at the Resthaven Chapel in Lanett, Alabama at 10AM (CT) 11 AM (ET) with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Mike Campbell officiating. Visitation will be held at the chapel for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Brown was born in LaGrange, Georgia November 19, 1935 to the late William And Eunice Brown.
He was a retired Minister having pastored Shiloh Baptist Church in LaFayette, Alabama and New Hope Baptist Church in Fredonia, Alabama among other Churches, he also had worked at the russell Corp. In LaFayette. He was a member of the Sweet Home Methodist Church In LaFayette.
He is survived by his children-Debra (Wayne) Adams of Five Points, Al., Donna (Jimmy) Pinkard of Milltown, Al., Dennis (Charlotte) Brown of Five Points, Al., Davey (Mattie) Brown of Valley, Al., 7 brothers & sisters, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He ws preceded in death by his parents, wife Joyce Espy Brown, son Timothy Carlis Brown, grandsons Jamie Lee, Andy Pinkard, Chris Brown, brother Larry Brown and sister Maxine Whitehair.
