Mr. Calvin Barfield 82 of LaFayette died Wednesday May 6, 2015 at the LaFayette Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held Friday May 8, 2015 at 2PM at the LaFayette City Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Barrett officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11AM until 1PM prior to the service. Mr. Barfield was born in Rock Mills, Alabama July 16, 1932 to the late Hoyt Barfield and the late Essie Towler Barfield, he was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in LaFayette, he had served as a policeman for the City Of LaFayette, and later served the LaFayette Fire Department for 35 years as a fireman and dispatcher, and retired from Genuine Motor Parts store in LaFayette after 32 years of service.

Survivors are his 4 daughters-Lydia (Alan) Hubbard of LaFayette, Al., Gloria (Albert) Johnson of Five Points, Al., Teresa (Danny) Edmondson of LaFayette, Al., Paula (Steve) Green of Valley, Al.  2 sisters-Peggy (Junior) Rollins of Rock Mills, Al., Ellen (Carey) Holloway of Rock Mills, Al., 7 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his brothers Benford Barfield, Lynn Barfield and a grandson Jason Alan Hubbard.
