Mrs. Betty SueYancey 82, of LaFayette, Alabama died Monday June 1, 2015 at the Bethany House Hospice. Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 3, 2015 at the Center Baptist Church at 11AM with burial in the LaFayette City Cemetery, with the Rev. Randall Hamer and the Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10AM until 11AM prior to the service.

Mrs. Yancey was born February 3, 1933 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to the late Jesse Benton Monroe and the late Zora Bell Hall Monroe, she was a member of the Center Baptist Church in Ridge Grove, and retired from East Alabama Lumber Company in LaFayette after 20 years of service.

Survivors are her husband Lewis Yancey of LaFayette, Al., daughter Jenny Leigh (William "Bill") Spratlin of Rockford, Al., daughter in law Phoebe Yancey of Lanett, Al., brother Milford Monroe of Dadeville, Al., grandchildren Jill (Zane) Hyde, Kyle Yancey and Bailey Yancey.  She was preceded in death by her sons Steven Lamar Yancey and Ed Yancey, grandson Corey Wallace Yancey, and her parents.
