Mrs. Betty Whitson 84, of LaFayette, Alabama died Sunday July 9, 2017 at the Dadeville Health Care Center in Dadeville, Alabama. Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 12, 2017 at 11 AM at the Rock Springs Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, with the Rev. James Caulfield officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10AM until 11AM  at the church prior to the service.

Mrs. Whitson was born in LaFayette May 23, 1933 to the late Ray Huckaby and the late Thelma Leverett Huckaby, she was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church, and she and her husband served as Missionaries to Africa for 25 years.

She is survived by her 2 daughters Deborah (David) Morgan of LaFayette, Al., Ginger Whitson of Jacksons Gap, Al., 1 sister Barbara (Steve) Olaveson of Opelika, Al., 4 grandchildren Devon Sharp, Jeremy Morgan, Christy Harper and Misty Stern and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband the Rev. Charles Whitson.
