Mr. Barry Hughes Harper 59 of LaFayette, Alabama passed away Thursday February 4, 2021 at the East Alabama Medical Center from complications of COVID 19.
Barry was born the third of three children born to the late William Hughes Harper and the late Martha Ford Harper of Shelbyville, Kentucky. He loved to travel with Jamaica being our favorite place to visit. He loved adventures, camping or a weekend boat ride, riding the dogs on the ATV mule and being with family. He loved his church family.
Barry loved being the hand and feet of Christ in our Emmaus Community, helping new pilgrims understand the love Christ has for each of us. This was his most cherished place to be as a servant of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brother Mark Ford Harper,and two Grandsons Robert Allen Schell and John Oliver Bowling, he is survived by his Wife of 32 years Donna Adams Harper of LaFayette, Al., Daughters Stephanie Harper of Murfreesboro, Tn., Amanda Hightower (Matt) of Troy, Al., Emily Harper of Frankfort, KY., Sons John Bowling of Opelika, Al., Sam Bowling (Kathryn) of Auburn,Al., Grandchildren Stephen Harper, Braydon Hughes Harper, Hunter Bowling, Christian Bowling, Destiny Schell, Amelia Hill, Alex Schell, Sara Warren, and Tinley Bowling, Sister Marcia Harper of Shelbyville, KY.
There will be a Celebration of Life service Saturday February 27, 2021 at 2PM CST at the Prayer Garden at LaFayette Heights Baptist Church 1200 Alabama Highway 77 LaFayette, Alabama 36862. Family will receive friends 1 hour before services.
In lieu of flowers we ask memorial donations to our church or to Central Alabama Emmaus P,O, Box 241571 Montgomery, Alabama 36124-1571.
The family thanks all of you from the bottom of our hearts for the love, compassion, comfort, and prayers for Barry and us during these past weeks and weeks to come. We want to thank specially all the Angels of Mercy and Grace in the ICU unit of EAMC. No words can fully express our gratitude for their love and compassion they showered on Barry and us.
